Privacy notice

Visita Nayarit (visitanayarit.com) is responsible for the personal data you provide through this site. This notice explains what we collect, why we use it and how you can exercise your rights, under Mexican law on personal data held by private parties.

Data we collect

When you subscribe to our guides we collect:

• Required: email address and topics of interest.
• Optional: name, country, city or state, how you travel, approximate travel date, budget, preferred email frequency, WhatsApp number and whether you want deals from partner businesses.
• Technical and record-keeping: language, the page where you subscribed, referring site and campaign parameters (UTM), IP address, browser, and the date and time you signed up and confirmed. We keep these as evidence of your consent.

We do not collect sensitive or financial data.

How we use your data

Necessary purposes: sending you the Nayarit guides, routes and news you chose, confirming your subscription and handling unsubscribes or preference changes.

Additional purposes (you can opt out without affecting your subscription):

• Tailoring content to your interests, origin and travel plans.
• Producing statistics about tourism interest in Nayarit.
• Only if you ticked the box: sending you deals from partner hotels, tours and businesses. We send those deals ourselves; we do not hand your email to those businesses.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell or transfer your data. It is processed on our behalf only by the providers we need to run the site: the web hosting service and, where applicable, the email delivery service. Google and Amazon also receive technical and browsing data from your browser when they show ads or products on the site (see the cookies and advertising section). Beyond that, we would only share it if a competent authority legally requires it.

How long we keep it

For as long as your subscription is active. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you immediately and keep only a minimal record of the unsubscribe so we do not contact you again. If you never confirm your subscription, we delete the record within a reasonable time.

Your rights and how to exercise them

You can access, correct or delete your data, object to its use, withdraw your consent or limit how it is used:

• Unsubscribe instantly: use the unsubscribe link included in every email.
• Change your preferences: fill in the form again with the same email and we will update your data.
• Any other request: write to [email protected] from your registered email stating your request. We will reply within 20 business days.

Cookies, advertising and measurement

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Visita Nayarit is free thanks to advertising, and we use our own and third-party cookies for the following:

• Measurement: Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics measure, in aggregate, how many people visit, which pages they read and where they come from. They may record your IP address and device data.
• Advertising (Google AdSense): we show Google ads. Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, cap how often you see an ad and measure its performance. • Amazon Associates: we take part in the Amazon Associates Program. Some links and products lead to Amazon and, if you buy, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon may use cookies to record that purchase.
• Site features: the subscription form stores the campaign parameters you arrived with in your browser, for the current session only, and we remember your preferred language.

How to control advertising and cookies

• Turn off personalized Google ads in Google Ad Settings. You will still see ads, but not based on your interests.
• Opt out of personalized ads from other vendors at aboutads.info or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.
• Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may stop working properly.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we will ask for your consent before using advertising cookies, through Google’s consent message. You can change your choice at any time from that message’s privacy link.

Our content is editorial and independent: ads and affiliate links do not influence what we recommend.

Changes to this notice

If we change this notice, we will publish the new version on this page with its update date. The version you accepted is recorded with your subscription.
